THE RACE LIGHT : THE STORY OF A SHOE DESIGNED FOR FAST RUNNING
At only 225g in size 42, it is the lightest of our shoes. Yes, we can say it: the Race Light was the essential that we were missing. Essential, because it is not for everyone. Essential, because those for whom it is intended have specific needs, often forgotten, because they do not represent the majority of runners. And for good reason, on the first step of the podium, there is only one place! With this in mind, there was no stopping us: it was decided that the Race Light would accompany the fastest runners!
MATRYX® , A HIGH PERFORMANCE TEXTILE
Matryx® is a patented, noble component, recognised in the world of trail running, produced in the Rhône-
Alpes region. Ultra resistant, light and breathable, it is made of high tenacity polyester coated with polyurethane (tear resistance, abrasion resistance, breathability). To this weave, we have chosen to add aramid thread for even more support.
AN ALL-TERRAIN GRIP
Do you compete on all types of terrain? Your Racelights give you the necessary grip on all types of trails thanks to the 5 mm studs.
ANATOMY OF A SHARP SHOE
Take a look at the profile of the Race Light… See that raised ridge that runs along your sole? This is the Up Bar®
concept, a technology borrowed from Kiprun (road running), a plate worked on with podologists. The aim? To optimise the dynamism of your stride and its fair return of energy by stiffening these two supports without hindering the movement of your foot.
Regarding lacing, we have worked extensively on an improved lace storage system. Securing your laces in a pocket simply prevents them from coming loose or getting caught in branches or low vegetation. What is special about this expandable and sturdy pocket? The opening is not at the top, but at the bottom, at the front of the shoe. This way, the lace is better distributed in the pocket.
What could be better than a demanding playground like Reunion Island to test the Race Light?
As far as the testers were concerned, the selection was made with runners
whose ITRA rating is not below 700: real competitors ready to fight it out!
“I made them run hard on a 2.5 km loop to be completed several times,
they had to go for it” , says Thierry BREUIL, product manager for this shoe.
